How Long Can You Foster?

Every foster parent's availability is different — choose the option that works best for your schedule.

Short-Term Foster

1 – 2 Weeks

Perfect for emergency situations, post-surgery recovery, or when a dog needs a short break from the shelter.

How long do I need to foster a dog?

You choose the duration. We offer short-term, medium-term, and long-term options to fit your availability.

What if I fall in love with my foster dog?

That happens often. You'll have first option to adopt the dog if you decide to make it permanent — this is called foster-to-adopt.

Can I foster a dog if I already have other pets?

Yes. We'll match you with a foster dog that gets along well with your existing pets.

What if I need to travel while fostering?

We can arrange a backup foster or short-term boarding for your foster dog while you're away.

Who pays for the foster dog's vet bills?

We cover all medical expenses for every foster dog. You just provide the love and daily care.
